CARPHA to host high level meeting of medical personnel

The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), will be hosting a High-Level meeting of Chief Medical Officers(CMOs), Public Health Agencies, International Development Partners, CARICOM and other regional entities in Trinidad and Tobago next week. The 2-day Regional Health Security (RHS) Pathway Planning meeting will take place at the Hilton Trinidad Hotel and Conference Centre from August 8-9 2023, a notice of invitation from CARPHA states.
The meeting would facilitate a forum with CMOs, agencies, and partners for the development of a detailed mapping of how the wide scope of regional coordination, laboratory, early warning and response surveillance systems, and workforce development would be conducted and coordinated to achieve the desired objectives at regional and CARPHA Member State level. This meeting builds on the Stakeholder Consultations on Regional Health Security (RHS) – The Way Forward, which took place in July, 2022.

The meeting will be preceded by an opening ceremony where speakers will include: Dr. Joy St. John, Executive Director, CARPHA; Dr. Richard Garfield, Global Health Security and Emergency Response and Recovery Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and Terrance Deyalsingh, Minister of Health, Trinidad and Tobago.
