VSPCA treats dog injured during fatal Pole Yard shooting

The Vincentian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (VSPCA) has come to the rescue of Marshmello, a male dog that was recently injured during a fatal shooting in the Pole Yard community.

The dog’s injuries were brought to the attention of the VSPCA following news coverage by the SEARCHLIGHT team last Thursday, April 13.

Two men, Jomo “Top Dog” Brudy and John “Dan Dada” Dallaway were both shot during the evening attack on April 10, with Brudy succumbing to his injuries in hospital the next day.

In the video, posted to SEARCHLIGHT’s social media, one Pole Yard resident highlighted the gunshot wounds the dog received- one to his groin and another to the neck.

Representatives of the VSPCA told SEARCHLIGHT they paid a visit to the community to assess the animal which appeared to be doing well.

The VSPCA indicated that the dog is expected to be taken to the clinic to be treated for its injuries.
