National Parks launches Nine Nights of Lights tomorrow

The National Parks, River and Beaches Authority will launch the Nine Nights of Lights at an official ceremony tomorrow, Wednesday November 30.

The organising committee said in a release that the St. Vincent Botanical Garden Nine Nights of Lights will be celebrated under the theme “A Botanical Garden Christmas”.

The concept of Nine Nights of Lights as an event was introduced in 2015 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Botanical Garden. It was one of several activities held that year to commemorate the anniversary of the Gardens which was established in 1765.

Today, Nine Nights of Lights has developed into one of the most anticipated Christmas traditions for thousands of Vincentians and is a major contributor to the National Nine Morning festivities held annually in December.

The ceremony will be held in the Amphitheatre in the Botanical Garden from 1:00 p.m.
