Government to establish modern science laboratory
Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves has revealed his government’s plans for the construction of a modern science laboratory in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
The proposed lab is to be built on government lands adjacent to the UWI Open Campus in Kingstown.
This was disclosed by Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves on the Issue at Hand programme on WEFM on Sunday, November 13.
Gonsalves, who also has responsibility for post secondary and tertiary education, said the government will seek funding for the establishment of the lab.
He explained that this modern science lab will cater for such areas as : physics, chemistry, biology and zoology.
Sound engineering, maths and information technology will also be accommodated at the proposed facility in Kingstown.
Education Minister, Curtis King said his ministry has made “satisfactory progress” over the last two years.
King, who was a guest on the WE FM programme said there are still a lot of gaps for the ministry to cover, since it is not yet at the level where it is comfortable.
