Senator Francis making strong recovery, says Finance Minister
GOVERNMENT SENATOR, Julian Francis is said to be “working hard on his recovery.”
Disclosure of this was made by Finance Minister, Camillo Gonsalves on Star Radio last Tuesday night, September 20.
Francis a full Minister of Government whose portfolios cover urban development, seaports, airports and local government fell ill on July 4 after suffering a stroke. He was treated at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and later flown to Barbados for further medical attention.
The senator returned home on August 9.
On Tuesday night, the finance minister said Francis “is still recuperating, but is improving every day.”
“We are very encouraged by the strong recovery that he is making,” the minister said.
He told listeners to the ‘ULP Speaks’ programme that he is in close contact with Francis and his loved ones.
As a result of his illness, Francis, who is general
secretary of the Unity Labour Party (ULP), was unable to attend the party’s national convention held at the Campden Park Secondary School on July 31.
