ECCB Governor in SVG on his Country Outreach Mission
The Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Timothy N.J. Antoine is in St Vincent and the Grenadines on a five-day visit as part of his 2022 round of Country Outreach Missions.
The Governor began his engagements yesterday by discussing key issues with prime minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves and the Minister of Finance, Camillo Gonsalves.
The ECCB delegation also visited the C.W. Prescod Primary School, the ECCB Mentorship School, yesterday, September 12.
The ECCB Primary School Mentorship Programme was launched 15 years ago, in October 2007. The programme targets students in Grades 4 – 6 from eight primary schools – one in each ECCB member country – ensuring that they receive mentorship and financial education during their last three years of primary school.
On September 14, the Governor and his delegation will pay a courtesy call on Governor General, Dame Susan Dougan.
The ECCB Governor and his team will then make a presentation to the Cabinet of on the ECCU’s performance and prospects.
Later that day, the delegation will meet with Leader of the Opposition, Dr Godwin Friday.
The following day, Governor Antoine and his delegation will meet with social partners inclusive of business, labour unions, churches and youth. They will also hold separate meetings with bankers and media practitioners.
The Country Outreach Mission will conclude with ‘Conversation with the Governor’, a live TV interview which will be streamed on SVG Television, as well as VC3 and the ECCB Connects Facebook page and YouTube channel.
During the broadcast, Governor Antoine will take questions from the audience. The public is encouraged to call or send questions via the social media platforms.
The ECCB’s delegation to SVG includes: Director of the Research, Statistics and Data Analytics Department, Teresa Smith; Head of the Advisory Services Unit in the Governor’s Immediate Office, Dr. Emefa Sewordor; and Acting Director of the Corporate Relations Department, Shermalon Kirby.
As part of his 2022 round of Country Outreach Missions, the Governor visited Anguilla in May, Montserrat in June and
St Lucia in July.
