Elderly woman involved in vehicle incident to be buried today
An elderly woman who died at hospital just over one week after the vehicle in which she was travelling was said to have been struck by another vehicle will be laid to rest today.
Elyne Magdalene Olliver, 78 of Bridgetown, Biabou died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on August 17 following the incident on August,8.
Olliver was heading home to Biabou on that date when the vehicle in which she was a passenger was reportedly struck by another vehicle.
At the time the vehicle was driven by her brother, Gideon Olliver.
Gideon’s granddaughter, Arian Peters was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Gideon said on reaching an area close to the gas station in North Union, another vehicle slammed into his vehicle.
His elderly sister sustained multiple injuries and internal bleeding and was taken to hospital.
Gideon who lives in Park Hill told SEARCHLIGHT that his 12 year old grandchild suffered a broken left arm in the incident.
He sustained minor injuries.
The 78 year old woman is survived by three children, eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She will be buried today, Tuesday August 30 at the Biabou cemetery after a funeral service which begins at 10:00 a.m at the St Matthews Anglican Church at Biabou.
