Woman complains of disturbing phone messages; man taken into custody
A man of Redemption Sharpes was taken into custody earlier this week and is assisting the police with investigations into “disturbing messages” which were directed to a woman and her daughter.
The police said in a release that the woman, who is also a resident of Redemption Sharpes went to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on March 20, and again on March 21 and reported that she saw disturbing messages and listened to voice notes with equally disturbing content on Messenger, about her and her daughter which were allegedly uploaded and posted by the man who was named in the police release.
The police said they entertained the woman’s report and she was directed to the Information Technology Department on her March 21 visit and a party of officers was dispatched in search of the suspected offender but he was not found at that time.
However, later that day the suspect was taken into custody by officers attached to the Special Services Unit (SSU) and he is now helping the police with their investigations into the matter.
