SVG’s tenure at UN Security Council to be documented in a book
St Vincent and the Grenadines’ accomplishment of gaining a seat on the United Nations Security Council is being documented for future generations.
This country was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in June 2019, a position which it officially assumed in January 2020.
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves said on NBC Radio on Wednesday March 2, that this achievement will form a chapter in a new book.
The PM said he recently received a letter from a “distinguish academic” professional in the region.
In the letter, Dr Gonsalves said he was informed that an “important university and a big publishing house” are working on a new book.
The letter writer informed Gonsalves that in the book there will be “a chapter on St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Security Council.”
The unnamed person who wrote to the PM is to be the author of the said chapter.
In the letter he was seeking assistance and information on this country’s strategy and diplomacy for the accomplishment.
