CDC lowers COVID-19 risk for travelers to SVG

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States has issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) which recommends that citizens of the US “reconsider travel” to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines due to COVID-19.

According to the Notice issued by the Department of State on December 20, 2021, a Level 3 Health Notice due to COVID-19 indicates a high level of COVID-19 in the country. “Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine. Before planning any international travel, please review the CDC’s specific recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers. Visit the Embassy’s COVID-19 page for more information on COVID-19 in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” the notice said.

The Department of State updates its Travel Advisories to align with the travel health notices from the CDC as travelers face ongoing risks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This advisory is an improvement on the Level 4 – “Do not Travel” advisory which had been issued by the CDC for SVG on October 12, 2021.  The Level 4 Travel Health Notice due to COVID-19, indicated a very high level of COVID-19 in the country.
