RSVGPF to receive consignment of water from Barbados today

Members of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), expect to receive a consignment of water today, Friday April 16.

The shipment that is being transported by the Barbados Coast Guard comprises two hundred and eight (208) cases of Glacial bottled water (4,992 bottles of 500 ml water) donated by the Caribbean Federation of Police Welfare Association (CFPWA) through the proceeds of the Barbados Police Welfare Association and Glacial Ice (Barbados) limited, a release stated.

Part of a greater collaborated effort to assist St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) to mitigate the effects caused by La Soufriere, this contribution is said to be one of many that the Police officers will receive from their Member Associations throughout the region in their time of need.

Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony at the Barbados Coast Guard Base Wednesday, the president of the Barbados Police Welfare Association stated that when the request was received, his association made it a priority to assist their colleagues in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Receiving the items on behalf of the RSVGPF, General Secretary of the CFPWA and Junior Chairman of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Welfare Association, Police Constable 38 Devon Bute, who is currently pursuing a law degree at the Cave Hill Campus in Barbados, stated that “the Federation realized that water will be a need in SVG with the ash-fall that is taking place, and as a result, the CFPWA saw the need to contribute to the members of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force”.

He went on to thank the president and executive members of the Barbados Police Welfare Association and the Glacial Ice Limited for their support and generous contribution, and assured them that the cases of bottled water will meet their intended purpose.
