Former DPP appointed as High Court Judge, ECSC
Justice Colin Williams, a former director of public prosecutions in St Vincent and the Grenadines has been appointed as High Court Judge, Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
His appointment was announced on the eccourts.org website this week and will take effect from March 1, 2021.
Justice Williams will be assigned to Antigua and Barbuda.
This is the former DPP’s second appointment as a judge since his retirement from public service in 2018.
He was sworn in as a Justice of the Belize Supreme Court in March of that year and was then, one of two temporary judges appointed for a one-year period to deal with a backlog of cases.
Williams has been a practicing attorney since 1999 and served as this country’s DPP for 15 years, following his appointment to the post in 2003.
