Personal Trainer starts ‘We Deliver’ service

The determination and entrepreneurial spirit of a local personal trainer has resulted in a business that has the potential to withstand the stinging effects of COVID-19.

When the pandemic began to affect St Vincent and the Grenadines, fewer persons were making trips to the gym, which meant that income for personal trainers like Kit Horne were impacted.

Instead of folding under this new and sudden challenge, the 31-year-old observed the changes taking place in the country and saw an opportunity to start his own delivery business, We Deliver.

“We definitely need it, especially in this atmosphere. In places like KFC, only 10 people could be inside…and then, who wants to be lining up outside…when you can call a delivery person?”

We Deliver has been in official operation for the past month offering the convenience of one not having to leave home to complete important or even small tasks.

The service offered by this small delivery business can be likened to bigger international entities like Uber Eats and UPS and includes the delivery of food, groceries, small packages and pharmaceuticals.

“Like UPS says, if it fits, it ships,” Horne told SEARCHLIGHT playfully as he folded his muscular arms and leaned against his scooter.

The entrepreneur has invested in two scooters for his delivery business and promises service that is fast, efficient and very reliable.

To utilise Kit’s service, persons are required to call or send a WhatsApp message to confirm availability and provide their location.

They must then place their order at the desired restaurant or business and inform that the order will be picked up by We Deliver.

Once the order is confirmed, We Deliver will pick up the food order or any other item and take it to the customer. Payment is made upon delivery.

Delivery rates range between $5 and $8 depending on the routes, which span from Campden Park on the Leeward side of the island to Ratho Mill on the Windward side.

Horne said persons can also call or WhatsApp to make special requests if their location is outside of these routes.

We Deliver operates Monday to Friday from 11am to 8pm. Deliveries can also be made on Saturday nights from 6pm.

Persons can be assured that all COVID-19 protocols are observed in the delivery of their packages. Anyone looking to utilise the We Deliver service can call 1(784) 497-9191.
