Embassy of Taiwan to host session on university scholarships next week

VINCENTIANS WHO are interested in applying for scholarships to pursue tertiary education in Taiwan are invited to attend a presentation on the 2019 Taiwan Scholarship Programmes next week.

The presentation, the first for 2019, will be held at Frenches House on Monday, January 28 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. The Taiwan Scholarships will be granted under the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and TaiwanICDF Scholarship programmes.

A release from the Embassy of Taiwan said it is highly recommended that those interested in applying for scholarships attend the presentation.

“The Embassy will make an introduction of the aforementioned scholarship programmes, including their respective qualifications, requirements and application procedures,” the release said.

The Taiwan Scholarship Programmes were launched in 2004 to encourage outstanding Vincentians to pursue higher education in Taiwan. It aims to enhance cultural and people to people exchanges between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

More than 143 Vincentians have been awarded the scholarships since inception. Last year, there were 20 scholarship awardees.

The deadline is March 16 for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship and March 31 for the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship.
