Bond between SVG and Taiwan reinforced

The bond between St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and the Republic of China (Taiwan) was reinforced by the signing of an Agreement on Technical Cooperation on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce.

“The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has contributed immensely to the enhancement of various sectors in St Vincent and the Grenadines namely Agriculture, Health, Education, Social Development and Infrastructure and has assisted extensively in technical and economic fields,” a release from the Agency for Public Information said.

The aim of this agreement is to further strengthen the provision of technical assistance between both governments as the two countries address the development challenges of the 21st Century.

SVG and Taiwan established diplomatic relations on August 15, 1981. Both countries share very close diplomatic ties and Taiwan is considered one of SVG’s closest allies.
