The school has served the immediate and surrounding communities by educating and producing effective and outstanding citizens since the opening of its doors in 1971 under the principalship of Alban Henry.
“One can identify lawyers, accountants, managers, police officers, teachers, principals, custom officers, loans officers, nurses and successful entrepreneurs who have all been born from this small country school. These are just a few of the professions that the foundation schooling at Adelphi has manifested and continues to develop. The school’s focus has always been to add value to the Vincentian Society and it has done so thus far, therefore the need to celebrate 47 years,” a release from the school said.

The new school year has begun with over 200 students on roll and the school continues to offer quality education to those entrusted in its care. The 2017-2018 CSEC results proved such as the school saw improvement in its overall pass rates (72 per cent). Several students wrote eight subjects including Mathematics and English Language, and were able to achieve all eight. Among these students were Mathew Thomas and Esisha Shallow. Both students among others are enrolled at the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Technical Division.

As the school continues to strive for excellence, it will undergo a major project in the field of Agriculture commencing this school term.

The Agricultural Science program offered at the school has received a 72-foot Green House and Plant Nursery which rests on lands owned by the school. This project was donated by the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Schools’ Cooperative Division in the Ministry of National Mobilisation, Social Development, Family, Gender Affairs, Persons with Disabilities and Youth.

Area representative Frederick Stephenson and Patterson Homer are ensuring the project’s completion and success. The project hopes to improve the Agriculture Science program at the school and the way young people view agriculture in our society today.

The school has also recently partnered with Sagicor Life Insurance Company. On a visit to the school last Friday, Country Manager of Sagicor Life Insurance, Stanley Browne, committed to developing a relationship with the school as he expressed shared interest in the values and goals of the school. As an initial collaborative gesture from Sagicor Life Insurance, he donated two fans for use in the staff room and a cheque of $1500 towards the upcoming anniversary celebrations.
