Former AG to be accorded an Official Funeral tomorrow
Former Attorney General and Member of Parliament, Arthur Williams will be accorded an Official Funeral tomorrow, and viewing of the body will be held at the House of Assembly today.
Arthur Williams passed away at his Queen’s Drive home on August 7, at the age of 85 years. He was one of St Vincent and the Grenadines’ long serving legal professionals, having been called to the bar in 1969.
During his lifetime, he also served in the position of Attorney General, Minister of Communications, Works and Labour, and was the Parliamentary Representative for the West St George constituency in the St Vincent Labour Party administration.
A release from the Cabinet Secretary states that Williams will be accorded an Official Funeral on Saturday August 18.
Official viewing of the body will commence today, at the House of Assembly, from 10 in the morning and conclude at one in the afternoon. Officials may view the body between 10 and 11 am, and members of the public may do so between 11 am and 1 pm.
The Official funeral service will take place at the Kingstown Methodist Church from 2 pm, to be preceded by open tributes and viewing, which are to start at 1 pm.
Today and tomorrow all flags are to be flown at half mast as a mark of respect.
