This third anniversary weekend will feature six workshops, two parties, a fun tour to Vermont Nature Trail and Table Rock and end with a beach lime and cool down at the Buccament Bay beach.
In addition to the workshops and parties, the fiesta will feature performances from local, regional and international dancers, as over 20 dancers from neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago and two
international performers will be on the island to celebrate with LPSVG.
The delegation includes four instructors from LPTT, and first-time visiting instructors Frederick Phillipy (France) and Christine Mongin (Martinique) who are known to be a very lively and energetic duo.
Frederick and Christine will be conducting workshops at each of the parties hosted for the weekend.
On Friday, the Latin party action gets started with âIGNITEâ at the SOV Nightclub and Lounge. It will feature a Semba workshop by Frederick and Christine, followed by a Trini/Vincy Jack and Jill Latin Dance Competition.
On Saturday, September 24, Paradise Beach Hotel comes alive with another party, themed âLATIN COLLISION,â where patrons will be dressing in the colours of their favourite Latin dance! Salsa â Red, Bachata â Blue/Orange, Merengue â White and Kizomba â Black. The international couple will also be doing a workshop on the mixed styles of Kizomba and will be doing two performan ces.
To top it off, the weekend will also feature two guest Latin DJs from St Lucia and Trinidad.
The Fiesta Weekend is the 2nd Latin Dance weekend of this nature hosted by the Club since its inception. Latin Passion SVG Inc aims to make this an annual event in St Vincent and the Grenadines and has future plans to bring the Ministry of Tourism and Culture on board, as dance tourism has the ability of âdrawing both regional and international lovers of Latin dancing to our lovely shoresâ.
LPSVG started in September 2013 with a vision to elevate the standard of Latin dancing in SVG. Since then, the non-profit club has opened the doors of the wider Latin dance world to itâs members by providing opportunities for them to grow by attending the annual Salsa Fiesta in T&T, hosting regional instructors here to give special workshops and most recently, providing training opportunities for instructor Cuthbert Tucker to receive Kizomba training by Sara Lopez, one of the more popular Kizomba dancers in the world.
