“The visit falls on the 50th anniversary of Independence for Barbados, the 50th anniversary of Independence for Guyana and the 35th anniversary of Independence for Antigua and Barbuda,” the statement said.

The Prince, who turns 32 next week, also paid an official visit to Barbados in 2010, but it will be his first official visit to the other countries.

As a child, he did travel to Barbuda with his mother Diana, Princess of Wales and his brother Prince William in 1996, while there was also a family holiday to Nevis in 1993.

Kensington Palace said full details of Prince Harry’s visit will be disclosed at a later date.
