Reliving the incident, the injured man said that a man, who is known in the neighbourhood for his rowdy temperament, was speaking loudly in the street when he (Daniel) commented to someone, âhe nah fed up keep noise?â
Daniel said the man heard him and used expletives at him and he in turn repeated the exact curse words to the man.
âHe always making noise and argue for no reason. After we curse, he tell me I canât come in the road and I say is government road and he run and point a cutlass in my face,â recalled Daniel.
Daniel said that the minor fracas was broken up and he was in his yard explaining to his aunt what transpired when the man ran into the yard and chopped him on his neck, probably angered by the fact that he, Daniel, had commented, âI ainât fraid you.â
âHe rush in the yard and chop me and run,â said Daniel who added that this is the first time that he has been involved in a physical altercation of this magnitude.
âI could have died. This make me feel real bad and as I think about it, I could lose my life. I cry when I think back how stupid it happen. I feel real sad.
