Vincentian among four caught with almost 700lbs of cannabis stuffed in car
Just four days after an Antiguan operation in which eight pounds, six ounces of hashish oil were seized and two Vincentian nationals were arrested, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) in Antigua and Barbuda has recorded another success.{{more}}
On Friday, August 12, 2016, the ONDCP conducted a counter-drug operation in the Big Creek and Golden Grove areas of Antigua. This resulted in the arrest of four persons, two Antiguan males 27-year-old Mark John and 30-year-old Kimron John; an Antiguan female, 24-year-old Makeesha Henry and a Vincentian male, 35-year-old Steve Brown.
A total of approximately 697 pounds of compressed cannabis was also seized. The cannabis, which originated from St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), has an estimated wholesale value of XCD $1,395,250.
The quartet is expected to be arraigned today, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 to answer to several drug related charges.
