Gilchrist to take up new post as SVG Ambassador to US

St Vincent and the Grenadines will soon have a new ambassador to the United States (US) and to the Organization of American States(OAS).

Lou-anne Gilchrist, who is presently the chief education officer, is expected to take up the position sometime in September, Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves said on Tuesday, while being interviewed on the OMG morning show on Boom 106.9 FM.{{more}}

She will replace La Celia Prince, who spent her last day on the job almost one year ago – on September 7, 2015. Prince was ambassador since May 30, 2008.

The Prime Minister said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will soon announce the precise dates when Gilchrist will take up the post and present her credentials to President of the USA Barrack Obama.
