Caller threatens to kill Hot 97.1FM ‘AM Mayhem’ hosts on air

Alex ‘Kubiyashi’ Barnwell has called on the police to look into a caller who has, for the last few days, been calling into Hot 97.1 FM’s AM Mayhem morning show and making death threats to both him and Chris ‘2 Cool’ Jones’.

The caller could be heard on radio saying “I will shoot you”.

In some instances, the person, who sounds like a male, states when he will shoot the hosts and where.{{more}} This has been going on for some time now.

Yesterday morning, Barnwell said that he is calling on the authorities to look into the threats that are being made live on air, as employees of the station are now taking the caller seriously.

“God spare my life, I am calling on the authorities to do something. I will make a follow-up phone call and I am calling on the CID to visit and follow up,” said Barnwell, live on air, noting also that persons at the station are scared, although some of them carry licensed firearms.

Soon after Barnwell made the plea, the caller phoned in and made the threat once again.(LC)
