âIn terms of music production, âKubiâ has covered me to get through the season, and Sulani [Roberts] has been taking care of my bookings. This is a really nice help to get me back on my feet.
âI am hoping that with this exposure that I can become more established throughout the region.
âIâve been doing a lot of networking with the foreign artistes that came through, and I want to lean more towards songwriting, so Iâm looking for opportunities to write for artistes in and out of SVG, so Iâm looking to build the brand.â
Kev has delivered two offerings for the 2016 Carnival season: the single âTBTâ (Throwback Thursday) and âOvercomeâ on the Black Rave Riddim. He says that the tunes are being well received by the audience at the events that he has performed at to date.
He said he wrote the song âOvercomeâ to help him cope with adversities experienced during the early half of the year.
He said that he is hoping to put the earlier setbacks behind him and make the most of the new opportunities that are ahead of him.
âBasically the song is saying that no matter what happens, we shall overcome in the end. Iâve been through a lot for the first half of the year and âOvercomeâ is my way of saying that I will be fine.
Kev says he is grateful to be able to provide entertainment to the music lovers, and is grateful for the support that he has received from the production team and the many fans who still support him and his music.
âAfter all the negative push, it is amazing to see that people have gravitated to my music and looked past what had happened before.
âI would really like to thank Kubiyashi Productions and the rest of the team, as well as the fans. Itâs been a good run so far and I am thankful for the people who have stood by me.â
Kev can be seen in action at a number of the remaining events for the Carnival season, as well as a number of private events.
