Rianna is top CPEA English student

“I feel good being the top English student, it feels great,” is Petersville Primary School pupil Rianna Blake’s reaction to being this country’s top Language Arts performer at the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA).

She shared the spotlight with Marika Baptiste of the Fancy Government School who also scored 94 per cent in that subject.{{more}}

The 11-year-old Campden Park resident thanks her teacher Elizabeth Kelly, mother Ruth Blake and father Nigel Blake for supporting and helping her prepare for the exams.

She is hoping to pursue secondary studies at the Girls’ High School and says that too “feels wonderful.”

She noted that while she topped English, Mathematics is her favourite subject. She gained 83 per cent for maths and 80 per cent for science.

“If you want to do good, you have to study hard and focus on your work,” said Rianna.

The Petersville Primary School this year registered a 99 per cent pass rate. Blake was the top student for her school with Milan Compton and Lathan Samuel second and third respectively. (LC)
