The team will be headed by Dr Hsiao Ling Kao, and will include a general practitioner and breast surgeon, an emergency medicine doctor, a Chinese medicine doctor, a dentist and two nurses.
The visit will see the team being supported by and working closely with medical staff and colleagues of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
The activities of their visit will include outreach to local communities, through the provision of necessary medical services to Vincentians. Additionally, Dr Shou-Tung Chen, one of the top surgeons on breast cancer in Taiwan, will present two lectures to the medical staff at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and other local clinics.
âThe fruitful partnership and positive relations between SVG and Taiwan continues to be evident, as the MCMH and the CCH were twined in August of 2010. Since then, the two hospitals have strengthened their cooperation and interaction continuously.
âAnd, in our increasing attempt to increase the capacity of our professionals, two medical practitioners, a senior nurse and an administrator will later this year visit the CCH to participate in specific training programs,â a release from the Ministry of Health said.
