Junior Chamber International wins prestigious award
The members of Junior Chamber International (JCI) St Vincent formerly known as Jaycees were in high spirits in the past weeks, as the organisation received a top award at the 2016 Conference of the Americas in Uruguay held April 26 to 30, 2016. JCI Americas is made up of Chapters from the North, South, and Central Americas including the West Indies and Dutch Caribbean.{{more}}
Having hosted a Health Fair in August 2015 in the community of Greiggs. The organization received the Best Local Global Goals Advancement Project award. It was an incredibly surprising and proud moment for JCI St Vincent representative secretary general â Cametha John, who received the award on the organizationâs behalf, as they were not privy to the results.
JCI St Vincent has been working hard over the years to renew the strength and visibility of the organization, and winning the award received is not only reflective of the hard work and dedication put in by the members, but seeks to show that the efforts in creating impact in the community do not always go unrecognized.
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a non-governmental, voluntary organization with the main objective of developing and empowering young people, and contributing to community growth through active involvement. In 2015, the organisation celebrated 100 years of impact with over 200,000 members in more than 5,000 local organizations across the globe.
