Digicel SVG joins Rotary Club in walk for dyslexia
With research indicating that one in five students has a language-based learning disability, Digicel SVG on Sunday, May 8, partnered with the Rotary Club of St Vincent to walk for dyslexia awareness.
The activity was specifically designed to educate persons on dyslexia, particularly how it impacts a personâs development, a dyslexic personâs strengths{{more}} and weaknesses and how persons can use dyslexia to their advantage.
The dyslexia awareness walk, organized by the local arm of the Rotary Club, commenced shortly after 6:30 a.m., on Sunday, at the Arnos Vale Complex Sporting Grounds and ended at the Grassroots Tennis Court.
According to a release, Digicel believes strongly in the advancement and growth of the people it serves and, as a result, saw it as extremely important to be involved with such an initiative, which was geared at reminding citizens that dyslexia is a gift and not a disability and that dyslexia is much more than just seeing things backwards.
