Sports, culture benefit from CIBC
Kingstown, St Vincent, May 4, 2016 â Sports and culture were on the receiving end of donations from CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank last week.
The regional bank made a monetary contribution to the North Union Cricket Club, which will host the six-week long T-20 softball cricket tournament at the North Union Playing Field.{{more}}
More than a dozen teams, mainly from the groupâs South Windward community, are expected to be competing in the tournament, which is scheduled to commence this weekend.
The cheque was presented to Kezron Walters, chair of the North Union Cricket Club, by Business Support officer and Employee Engagement champion/Corporate Banking Jacintha Hinds.
Also receiving a donation from the bank last week was the Paragon Model Management group, for the hosting of the âCarnival Couture: Where Fashion Meets Masâ fashion show.
The event, which blended costumes from a number of the countryâs Carnival mas bands and top local designers, was hailed as a success and organizers thanked CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank for the financial contribution.
Hinds noted that the donations were in Âkeeping with the bankâs corporate social responsibility, and wished the best for the upcoming cricket competition. She congratulated the costume and clothing designers, models and organizers of the fashion show for a job well done.
