SVGCIC to host inaugural Finance Fair
In an effort to stimulate economic growth, and to spread knowledge regarding the use of financial instruments to greater advantage, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Chamber of Industry and Commerce is hosting its inaugural Finance Fair.
This event is unique, since it is not often that consumers have an opportunity to explore the inner workings of the financial sector in a way that is both informative and engaging.{{more}}
The Finance Fair is open to all, especially persons with an entrepreneurial spirit, interested in starting their own business, existing small and medium enterprises and students seeking financing for further education.
The main objectives of the event are to:
1. Provide an open platform for the business community and the general public to interact with institutions in the finance sector.
2. Provide an open platform to help the business community, especially entrepreneurs, start ups and SMEâs to better understand the roles and functions of the components that comprise the finance sector.
3. Offer businesses, prospective or existing, an opportunity to examine the various financial options available for starting and/or expanding their business.4. Provide the business community and general public with a better understanding of the financial instruments available as investment opportunities.
This two-day event will commence on May 10, and run through to May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Frenches House, Kingstown.
The Ministry of Finance has fully endorsed this event, with the budget director, Edmond Jackson, scheduled to be a guest speaker at the Finance Fair edition of the Chamberâs Business Luncheon.
Financial institutions interested in exhibiting at the fair are encouraged to take a booth.
In addition, the chance is being offered for participants and attendees from the general public to participate in four workshops, aimed at highlighting particular aspects of finance that are currently overlooked or underutilized.
Knowledge of financial instruments and increased financial acumen go a long way towards successful sustainable businesses that contribute to a healthy economy. This Fair offers an occasion to garner information that provides better control and management of finances that will help to improve the future of your business.
