Prestigious Vincentian to deliver GHS anniversary lecture

As the St Vincent Girls’ High School (GHS) celebrates it 105th anniversary, the school will be hosting an anniversary lecture, which will see a presentation by gospel artiste Dr Carol Hull-Jackson.

Hull-Jackson will be presenting the topic “Spirituality in an age of scientific advancement”.{{more}}

Dr Hull-Jackson a veterinarian, scientific author and research professional, earned her degrees at the University of the West Indies, following her graduation from GHS.

She has served as a professional owner and managing director of the Pet Health Centre; as acting director of the Leptospira Reference Laboratory in Barbados; and assistant lecturer in Medical Microbiology at the School of Clinical Medicine and Research, the University of the West Indies. During this time, she also founded the Barbadian Society for Microbiology.

Dr Hull-Jackson is currently pursuing a PhD with concentration on the importance of food safety to the tourism industry. Additionally, she has written for newspapers and magazines and has been featured on television and radio in Barbados.

She has successfully bridged her professional pursuits and her interests in music with her deep faith in God. She is a gospel artiste, pianist and songwriter; co-founder of Lifeshift records; and a regular co-host for a popular “Worship Life” radio programme in Barbados.

Dr Hull-Jackson has also facilitated and conducted worship and song-writing seminars in Barbados and St Vincent and the Grenadines, and in 2013 released her first album of original worship songs.

Hull-Jackson is the daughter of former GHS teacher, Leslie Alexander-Hull.

The lecture is set to take place at the Frenches House on Thursday, May 5th, 2016 at 8 p.m.
