‘Send this, send that’ – Lynx Mas Band

Lynx Mas Band for Vincy Mas 2016 will be keeping the tradition between Vincentians here and those in the diaspora, as they depict each other’s requests for special items.

Through the portrayal “Send this, send that”, the seven section band will showcase the artist’s impressions of some of what those in the diaspora mainly ask for, in “Sugar Cake”, “Strong Rum”, “Pepper Sauce” and “Black Wine”.{{more}}

In reverse, those still in their homeland call for “Brand Name”, “Money” and “Jewellery”.

Band leader Cornelius “Pete” Thomas said the concept has always been “popping up” in his head, and he thinks it is the “right time” to bring the portrayal to the local mas scene.

He anticipates the usual quality artistry and finish by which the band has come to distinguish itself over the years.

Thomas also indicated that they have kept the prices of the costumes affordable, with the children sections $150, and most of the senior sections at $250.

The Lynx Mas Band’s operations are in the Old Roxy Bakery at Sion Hill, next to the G & T Enterprises building.
