Thomas makes presentation in Cuba

The Embassy of St Vincent and the Grenadines in Havana, Cuba, recently hosted what has been described as a “magnificent presentation” by chair of the National Committee for Reparation for Native Genocide and African Slavery Jomo Thomas.{{more}}

Thomas, who is also the Speaker of the House of Assembly, spoke before an audience which included diplomats from Asia, Africa and Latin America, Cuban intellectuals and personalities from government, Vincentian students and Cuban media at the Casa del ALBA in Havana.

Thomas’ presentation, very ably aided by one of Cuba’s best translators, brought very forcefully and in detail the case which CARICOM has been putting on the table for reparations from the colonial powers which enriched their countries and countrymen off the sweat and blood of enslaved Africans in the Caribbean.
