SVG strengthens diplomatic relations
St Vincent and the Grenadines has, over the past week, strengthened its diplomatic relations with three of its long-standing allies.
Newly appointed non-resident ambassadors from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the United States of America and the Republic of Nicaragua presented Letters of Credence to Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne, at Government House.{{more}}
Jules Bijl, ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, presented his credentials on March 8; Linda Taglialatela, ambassador of the United States of America, presented on March 9 and Valdrack Ludwig Jaentschke, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua, with responsibility for the Caribbean presented his Letter of Credence on March 15.
SVG established diplomatic relations with the United States of America on October 27, 1979; the Kingdom of the Netherlands on April 8, 1981 and the Republic of Nicaragua on June 28, 1991. Over the years this country has engaged in mutually beneficial partnership, with all three countries, which have promoted economic development.
