College students invited to apply for scholarships
Students from St Vincent and the Grenadines who demonstrate strong academic achievement, have been accepted at a college or university and need financial support to pursue a Bachelorâs degree are being invited by Island Scholars Inc to apply for scholarships.{{more}}
A release from Island Scholars Inc said a maximum of EC$8,000 will be awarded to each student selected for the 2016-2017 academic year. Applications are available at www.Islandscholars.org, beginning April 1, 2016. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2016. Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 31, 2016.
Island Scholars Inc is a non-profit organization located in Lawrenceville, NJ, which was started in 2014 by Ronald Rose (formerly of New Grounds). The mission is to provide merit and needs-based college/university scholarships to promising students from St Vincent and the Grenadines.
In 2015 Island Scholars awarded six scholarships totalling US$15,600. Those scholarships will be renewed in 2016 if the students meet the requirements. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better and demonstrate a continued financial need.
