Staff members of Courts in St Vincent and the Grenadines joined employees in the rest of the region to welcome the return of their very own learning institute.

On Tuesday, March 8, the Unicomer University, formerly the Unicomer Institute of Learning, held a re-launch and rebranding ceremony throughout the region via teleconference,{{more}} with the local team assembling in the store’s Unicomer University Training Room for the event.

The Unicomer Institute of Learning was created in 2011, with the aim to become a vehicle for learning and development for Unicomer employees.

The university consists of Retail, Leadership and Functional academies that are focused on strengthening the competencies of teams within the retail stores, awarding “students” diplomas for successful management and development courses, and targeting performance improvement.

More than 700 individual users across the Caribbean have taken advantage of the Unicomer University courses which are offered and successfully completed the various lessons.

Courts country manager Michele Samuel had the honour of unveiling the new name and logo at the local training room, as she encouraged her staff to make use of the courses offered, in an effort to develop themselves on the job and even beyond.

The Unicomer University was launched in 11 Caribbean countries. Apart from St Vincent and the Grenadines, the university is present in Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago.
