BCK’s Gabricia Yorke wins SSBQ again

Gabricia Yorke of the Bishop’s College Kingstown received her prize yesterday, March 7, from Janelle Jack for being the Secondary School Bible Quiz winner for February. This is the third time a student of that school has won and the second time for Gabricia; she also won the prize in February 2015.{{more}}

In his brief address to the assembly, Joel Jack, Quiz organizer, was loud in praise of the principal, staff and students of the Bishop’s College for the orderly way in which they presented themselves on such occasions and encouraged them to continue. He said there is an erroneous tendency these days to think that it is wrong to do good, to be disciplined and to be orderly, but this must be resisted. Jack also encouraged students to go beyond simply excelling at their academics while at school. He said both universities and employers prefer to have students who were also involved and excelled in other useful activities while at school.

The SSBQ is an attempt to encourage students to become more interested in knowing the word of God, which can have significant benefits throughout their life.

The monthly prize consists of a Bible (or book for repeat winners), $200, an Acute Cosmetics’ gift-voucher valued $200 and a wrapped gift for the parent. More information may be had at: www.ssbq.org
