IKTV announces new changes in programming
Viewers of the indigenous local television station IKTV (channel 112), can look forward to new and innovative changes in its programming.
One of these changes will see IKTV now broadcasting its one hour Evening News update package an hour earlier, moving from its 8 p.m. slot to 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday, a move which is believed would capture the attention of more viewers during that time period.{{more}}
This will be followed by a repeat broadcast at 10 p.m. nightly, followed by 7 a.m. and 12 noon rebroadcast the following day.
Viewers will not only have an opportunity to watch the evening news, but thanks to IKTV, they would now be able to provide content to the channel, as IKTV launches its âMobile News Across SVGâ initiative.
With this initiative, IKTV will be promoting citizen journalism, encouraging the regular man/woman on the street to capture newsworthy content on their mobile phones, cameras and tablets, and sharing it with IKTV.
This footage must be sent exclusively to news@iktv112.com for review and possible inclusion in the stationâs 30-minute daily package, which will be aired at 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
Contributors would also have an opportunity to be rewarded for their submissions, as two videos would be selected monthly to receive cash or products, in the IKTV and Peopleâs Choice Reporter of the Month.
IKTV also promises more new and exciting innovations ahead, as the channel seeks to continue its trend as the broadcaster of leading local content, and other educational and entertaining regional and international programming.
