Handing over ceremony for ISO 27001 certificate takes place today

An official handing over ceremony for the ISO 27001 certificate in Information Security to the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) will be held today, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the SVG E-Government Centre, 3rd floor, CLICO Financial Centre.{{more}}

This certificate forms part of the Taiwan financed SVG E-Government Centre, which is an agreement between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and St Vincent and the Grenadines on cooperation in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with the main purpose of enhancing the efficiency of the government agencies and their staff.

The ISO 27000 is a family of standards that help organizations keep information assets secure. The utilization of these standards/procedures  help organizations manage the security of assets, such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to them by third parties. ISO/IEC 27001 is the best-known standard in this family, providing requirements for an information security management system (ISMS) which is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information, so that it remains secure.

In attendance at today’s ceremony will be the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Baushuan Ger and the Minister responsible for Technology Camillo Gonsalves, along with other government officials.
