Cost of personalized number plates increases to EC$2,500 per year

Persons who want to have their vehicle number plates personalized may do so, but, they will have to fork out some EC$2,500 yearly, up from EC$1,500.

Speaking in Parliament last Wednesday, Minister of Transport and Works Julian Francis said that he is prepared to lead the personalized number plate initiative, in an effort to help the Government raise revenue.{{more}}

Francis said that he is considering putting either ‘Silver Fox’ or ‘Campari’ on his vehicle number plate and he is hoping that persons with “fast cars” can follow in his footsteps, therefore putting some much needed money into the Government’s coffers.(LC)
