UN’s ‘Many Languages, One World’ essay contest

Full-time university students, 18 years of age and older, are invited to enter the 3rd annual Many Languages, One World essay-writing contest. Entries (original essays of 2,000 words or less) must be written in an official United Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish) that is not the first language of the entrant or the principal language of instruction during his or her primary or secondary education.{{more}} Essays are to address the theme of multilingualism and its role in fostering global citizenship and cultural understanding. Sixty winners (10 for each of the official UN languages) will be selected to participate in the 2016 United Nations Academic Impact Global Youth Forum in July 2016.
