Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU) Board of Directors visits SVG for first quarterly meeting of the year

The Board of Directors of the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU) is in St Vincent and the Grenadines to convene its first quarterly meeting for the year, which will be held today, Friday, January 22 at the Hotel Alexandrina conference room.{{more}}

The CCCU Board, as part of its advocacy initiatives, paid courtesy calls on Thursday, January 21 to Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr Ralph Gonsalves, and the Minister of National Mobilization with responsibility for Co-operatives Frederick Stephenson.

While here, the CCCU Board is also meeting with the leadership of the SVG Co-operative League, affiliate credit unions, and officials of the Financial Services Authority to discuss the current issues and challenges facing the regional credit union movement. This meeting was held yesterday, Thursday, January 21.

The Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions is the regional trade association and development agency for credit unions. The CCCU advocates on behalf of the regional credit union system to promote the sustainable development of credit unions and an enabling environment for the development of the co-operative sector as a critical stakeholder in the social-economic development and integration of the Caribbean.

The SVG Co-operative League is an affiliate member of the CCCU and is currently represented on the Board of Directors by Lennox Bowman.
