ECTEL to give update on proposed agreement between C&W, FLOW

A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) is expected to give an update on the progress of discussions relating to a proposed agreement between Cable and Wireless, Flow and ECTEL, among other agenda items.{{more}}

The 73rd meeting of the ECTEL Board of Directors will take place this Friday, January 22, in Dominica at the Fort Young Hotel conference room in Roseau.

During the meeting, the Board will also be updated on the status of the implementation of the Caribbean Regional Communication Infrastructure Programme (CARCIP) while there will be a review of the happenings in the electronic communications sector during 2015.

The CARCIP project has as its objective to increase access to regional broadband networks and advance the development of an ICT-enabled services industry in the Caribbean region.

Prior to Friday’s Board Meeting, ECTEL will on Thursday, January 21, launch the souvenir edition of its 15th Anniversary Magazine and its 2014 annual report.

ECTEL celebrated its 15th anniversary on May 4, 2015 and initiated year-long celebrations to observe the milestone. Next Thursday’s launch of the Anniversary Magazine will be another such event.

The launch will also take place at the Fort Young Hotel.
