Funeral service for ‘Father Mac’ to be held at Victoria Park

The funeral service for the late Patrick McIntosh, Dean of the St George’s Cathedral, will now be held at the Victoria Park.

A notice from the office of the Bishop of the Windward Islands, the Rt Rev’d C Leopold Friday said the venue for the funeral had to be changed, “due to certain constraints.”

The funeral service had initially been planned for the Church of the Ascension at Sion Hill, because of the unavailability of the St George’s Cathedral for large gatherings.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 15 and will begin at 2 p.m.

McIntosh, 68, died suddenly on January 5. He had been a priest for the last 38 years and served in the parishes of St James, Layou; Holy Trinity, Georgetown; St George and St Andrew and as Dean of St George’s Cathedral, among other offices in the church.
