Nine Mornings winners presented with prizes
Winners of the 2015 Nine Mornings Competition last Saturday received their prizes at a ceremony at the Peace Memorial Hall.
In Zone One of the VINLEC Community Lighting competition, Rose Bank walked away with first place, while Troumaca followed in second place. Taking the third place was Petit Bordel, with Layou placing fourth.{{more}}
Meanwhile in Zone Two, Green Hill placed first, while Fountain came in second, followed by Town Hill, third.
In Zone Three, Cotton Ground took first place, while Carriere placed second, Richland Park, third and Simon, fourth.
Point Village walked away with the first position in Zone Four, while New Grounds was awarded second, with Owia placing third.
Meanwhile, Port Elizabeth, Bequia came out on top in Zone Five, while Diamond Village and Clifton, Union Island were awarded second and third respectively.
However, it was Point Village who came out victorious in the National Lighting Competition, followed by Rose Bank and Cotton Ground, who placed second and third respectively.
Richmond Hill Gardens was the victor of the Best Lit Garden, while the Fitz-Hughes School Grounds took second place.
This year, Olivia DaSilva of Cane End swept the first place prize from Jimmy Samuel of Rillan Hill, who came in second, interrupting his self-predicted hat-trick. Sylvan Baptiste, a newcomer from Questelles, placed third.
The National Lottery Best Nine Mornings Community competition was awarded to Stubbs, with Barrouallie, Layou and Carriere placing second, third and fourth respectively.
However, Port Elizabeth, Bequia won the National Lottery Best Christmas Community, with Carriere placing second, Layou placing third and Richland Park being awarded fourth place.
Roland âRollyâ Bowmanâs âEverything For Christmasâ won the National Lottery Most Popular Local Christmas Song.
He was followed by Armstrong âStrongâ Williams âRound De Cornerâ placing second, âIt Must Be Christmasâ by Cauldric Forbes placing third and âSeason of Loveâ by New Star placing fourth.(AS)
