Sir Vincentâs retirement was announced on Monday at Heritage Square by Gonsalves, who revealed that âSir Vincent Beache, who has served this nation so faithfully and well for over 40 years in public life, has offered to demit his post as consultant/adviser to the Minister of National Security by the end of this year.â
The Prime Minister, who used the opportunity to thank Sir Vincent for what he described as âhis outstanding service,â noted that Sir Vincent and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security Godfred Pompey have had the basic day-to-day oversight of this ministry for the past 10 years, in addition to their policy advice.
âI am already targeting, as his possible replacement, a young man with tremendous experience in the field of national security, intelligence and white-collar crimes,â stressed Gonsalves, noting that he had already begun the quest of transitioning to a new generation of leaders. (LC)
