First elections my mother did not vote – Dr Gonsalves

This is the first elections that Theresa Francis, mother of Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves did not vote.

Gonsalves told the masses on Monday at Heritage Square that this is because she is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.{{more}}

“…these are the first elections in which my mother did not vote; she did not vote because between the last time (and now) her mental condition has deteriorated; she suffers from Alzheimer’s and she can’t even recognize me now,” said Gonsalves.

He added, “I remember her for all that she has done for me and she is my mother who fathered me.”

The Prime Minister also used the opportunity to recognize the elderly and persons with disabilities in the country. (LC)
