The group launched their brainchild, GE Planners, at the Frenches House on Wednesday, December 2, during a function dubbed ‘Ah taste of arwe Vincy,’ which served to show persons what the group is capable of.

Speaking at the launch, Cambridge said that the certificate programme was pursued by 15 persons who were split into three groups of five and their group decided to call themselves GE Planners and as part of their graduation, they decided to have a tea and exhibition showcasing local heritage and culture.

“We dubbed it ‘Ah taste of arwe Vincy culture,’ where we are showcasing things like Nine Mornings, Carnival, the Cake Dance and we are also giving persons a taste of Vincy, like Chocolate Tea, Codfish, Madongo Bakes…,” said Cambridge at the launch.

She said that the group is now available to plan events, “and the name means you can expect a lot from us.”

“The name, GE Planners, was from the fact that when persons think about great expectations they think about the fact that we can plan any event that anybody wishes to have. When you see GE planners, you think an exquisite event done by exquisite people, just for you,” added Cambridge.

The launch event saw a performance from Avenues Dancers, while persons were treated to local drinks and dishes like Bush Tea, Mauby, Ginger Beer, Madongo Bakes, Dough Boy, Tri-Tri cakes, Ducana and Coconut Slice.(LC)
