COURTS reintroduces ‘Wish List’ campaign
In a period when businesses worldwide have been reviewing their spending, Courts (SVG) has announced its intention to donate close to $10,000 worth of products to the needy.
Since its official launch in 2010, more than 100 persons have benefitted from this venture of the Caribbeanâs leading retailer of top brand appliances, electronics and furniture products.{{more}}
Some of the beneficiaries of the programme have received brand new cookers, fridges, mattresses and small electrical appliances. Additionally, some have also been recipients of food baskets that have been well received and appreciated. This ties in with the companyâs corporate social responsibility, which focuses on poverty alleviation.
The âCourts Wish Listâ campaign is made possible through a joint collaboration with local radio and television stations, the public and the company. Persons are invited to telephone, send e-mails or letters requesting a donation of a household product or groceries. The request, however, must be on behalf of someone else, someone whom the person making the request believes deserves to have their wish for a household or grocery item from Courts come true.
The campaign was officially launched on Tuesday, December 1, on a popular radio station. The responses are pouring in, each emotionally charged, as they tell of stories of hardships, obstacles, trials, but above all, stories of resilience and perseverance. The narratives capture the determination of persons who live with daily challenges and would be heartened by the joy and surprise of receiving a âCourts Christmas wish-listâ item.
The Courts team, comprising the companyâs employees, will be making the highly anticipated trip to deliver the products to recipients just in time to celebrate the New Year 2016. Persons are encouraged to submit their requests by sending a letter to Courts Commercial Team or by simply contacting any of the two Courts branches.
