âWe have all of the skills that we think are necessary to ensure that the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines, after the next few years after we have formed government, become a vibrant and prosperous people once more, with our young people able to get jobs and our economy based in agriculture and tourism will be doing much better.
âAny party in government must pay attention to the issues, then implement policies,â he observed.
Eustace said that St Vincent is one of the most indebted counties in the world and they must put a stop to it.
âWe have to stop those thingsâ he said, adding âto do that we have to get rid of them.
âWe donât want to be the laughing stock of the Caribbean,â Eustace declared.
The Opposition Leader stated that he wants the country to move forward, and stand out as a people in order to gain the respect from neighbouring territories.
He said he believes that Vincentians need to have a better standard of living in order to help poor people who can barely make ends meet.
âI will deal with the problems of St Vincent and the Grenadines in a way you have not seen them dealt with before.â
According to the NDP leader, all poverty cannot be eliminated; however, most of it can be removed, making life much better for the majority of Vincentians.
Eustace asserted that the NDP came very close last elections, admitting that they made mistakes that cost them the victory.
According to Eustace, one of the factors attributing to their loss is alleged corruption with the votersâ list, but the NDP is paying much more attention to the matter this time around and will ensure that they block out the corruption that he alleges is taking place.
âWe have to keep our eyes and our ears open as to the possibilities of theft at election time.â
Eustace said that persons are being allowed to register in areas where they donât belong, in hope of preventing the NDP from forming government; however, the NDP is working to prevent it from causing them a loss in those areas.
He further mentioned the health, banana, agriculture and tourism programmes, as well as matters to deal with law, justice and crime included in the 2015 manifesto.
âAll of that is compiled in this 82-page document,â he said, referring to the manifesto.
Eustace expressed his pride in the manifesto, stating that all members of his team made contributions and would be making changes in each area of government.
Additionally, he stated that they are working with the Garifuna to ensure that their contributions assist with the development of the Vincentian economy.
He then urged supporters to find themselves at the poles and cast their X for the New Democratic Party.
âThe game is not over until the last vote has been cast and the New Democratic Party has the majority of the votes.â(AS)
